You are buying 12+ seeds for an unusual, showy, intriguing and highly appealing member of the nightshade family, Naranjilla, Solanum quitoense.
Planting instructions will be included with the seeds.
The fruits on these plants are used in juices, but I have never eaten them. PLEASE DO YOUR OWN RESEARCH REGARDING EDIBILITY and processing.
The naranjilla plant is a spreading, herbaceous shrub to 8 ft (2.5 m) high with thick stems that become somewhat woody with age. This is the SPINED or THORNED variety -- they are WICKEDLY BEAUTIFUL! The fruits on these range in size between a quarter and a half-dollar and are hairy/thorny. The plant does best in a rich, organic soil; also grows well on poor, stony ground, and on scarified limestone. It must have good drainage. Does best in partial shade. Does not tolerate heavy winds. Hardy zones 9-10.
