24+ Florida Tropical White Pear Guava Fruit Tree Seeds (Psidium guajava pyriferum) PLUS planting instructions, including a color photo for seedling id. These are fresh seeds that I have checked for germination with excellent results.
These trees are easy to grow and grow quite fast in a warm climate - hardy to zone 9b and warmer. Protect from freezing. In zone 10, mine produced abundant fruit in 3 years from seed and are easily 15 feet tall. Mine have flowered and produced fruit ALL SUMMER. I don't know if this is common, however.
When ripe, the fruit is yellow-green on the outside and have creamy white flesh on the inside with small seeds. They have a nice, smooth guava flavor with the bit of a pear tang to them. They are about the size and shape of a Barlett Pear. These can be used in jellies, jams, or eaten raw.
Of course, you can enjoy the beautiful flowers these trees get each spring, as well! They thrive in full sun. sandy, well draining soil. While growing, they like consistent and frequent (daily or every other day) watering (but not standing water!).
Seeds germinate best in warm temps (80?F or higher). Full germination and growing instructions will be included with the seeds.
