Commonly grown since the 1800's. Bright cardinal red blooms from early summer until frost are very attractive to hummingbirds and butterflies. Vigorous vines will climb 10-15 if given the room on trellises and arbors in full sun or part shade. Also suitable for pots but needs a trellis to climb.
