You are buying 3 nice, large UNROOTED cuttings for the BOLIVIAN (Golden Mexican) SUNFLOWER A. GRAY - TREE MARIGOLD (Tithonia diversifolia). Each cutting will be approximately 18 - 20 long and near 1/2 diameter at the largest part. These root very easily if kept warm, in full or mostly sun, IGNORED and not overwatered. I will send planting instructions with your cuttings.

This plant is also commonly called: Bolivian Sunflower, Honduras Sunflower, Japanese Sunflower and Shrub Sunflower.

These are perennials in zones 9a and warmer, in colder zones you can take cuttings before the first freeze to root in containers and overwinter them indoors or in a greenhouse so you'll have plants to set out in the spring.

These plants grow much larger than other Mexican Sunflowers, reaching heights of 10 FEET or more if not trimmed. (stick the trimmings in the ground for more plants! they root EASILY!) Bold and colorful, they draw butterflies and hummingbirds to your garden with fragrant, 3 wide, daisylike, golden blooms that emerge in mid-summer and last until frost. (EXCELLENT CUT FLOWER - WHAT A FRAGRANCE!) A genuine heat lover, this Bolivian Sunflower blooms in late summer or early fall, just when your other flowers are fading, these come ablaze with sizzling yellow daisies that are VERY attractive to butterflies and hummingbirds.

Great for the back of the border or a sunflower 'hedge'.

PREFERS sandy, infertile soil, drought, and neglect. WILL NOT STAND TO BE CODDLED or OVERWATERED.
