DISCONTINUED. Allamanda ''Cherries Jubilee'' Seeds,Tropical Climber

DISCONTINUED. Free Shipping. 5+ Seeds. Allamanda ''Cherries Jubilee''. I got these seeds from an old gardener friend who lives in South Florida; his Cherries Jubilee Allamanda must have been 20 years old - a true old Florida heirloom! These have large (5-6 across), trumpet shaped Dusty Rose flowers. Prickly seed pods (kind of remind me of Little Shop of Horrors!) follow the flowers with winged seeds that fly about when the pod dries and breaks open.

5+ Seeds for Allamanda 'Cherries Jubilee'.

I got these seeds from an old gardener friend who lives in South Florida his "Cherries Jubilee" Allamanda must have been 20 years old - a true old Florida heirloom! I just started a few for myself (I got 100% germination, but it takes a while and they like it very warm! I will send planting instructions with the seeds) and am offering the remainder to you. I don't know how long these take to bloom when grown from seed I guess we'll find out together (or if you know - email me!).

Allamandas are a tropical twining vine with deeply veined, whorled leaves. These have large (5"-6" across), trumpet shaped Dusty Rose flowers. Prickly seed pods (kind of remind me of "The Little Shop of Horrors!") follow the flowers with winged seeds that fly about when the pod dries and breaks open.

Allamanda is perennial in tropical climates (hardy to zone 9b and warmer) but may be container grown in colder climates and brought inside during cold weather  (Alamandas will freeze at 30°F).

Allamandas are breathtaking when in the full glory of their bloom. Plant them where they will be as conspicuous as possible - they like full sun to part shade and well draining soil. In the tropics, they are often pruned and maintained as blooming hedge plants.

The plant has milky sap and is considered poisonous all parts are highly cathartic - don't ingest any part of these plants.
