A perennial shrub (can also grow as an annual) from South America suitable for container growing. You are buying 24+ seeds for an unusual and showy plant:  Jerusalem Cherry (AKA: Christmas Cherry, Winter Cherry, Madeira Winter Cherry) of the cultivar "Joker". Solanum pseudocapsicum

Planting instructions will be included with the seeds. I have tested these seeds for germination with very good results.

These can be grown in containers (so you can place them strategically for best effect!) or in the garden or landscape. They need full, or a good amount of sun each day during the summer  for best fruiting and have average water needs. Bring your container in during the winter to grow as a perennial in any zone (will survive in the landscape as a perennial in zones 9 and warmer).

The JC plant needs bright light & a cool room (around 60°f) during the fall/winter months. From Nov-May while plant is indoors do not fertilize. In the spring, before putting this plant outdoors, I cut it back almost halfway & then bring it out for the spring/summer. It needs to be outside in order for the flowers to be pollinated. Fertilize from late Apr-Oct with a balanced fertilizer. Water the plant well, when the soil starts to slightly dry water well again don't allow water to stand or the soil to remain soggy. It likes full sun during  the summer months. Some books claim this plant is an annual & to discard after fruiting, and it can be grown as an annual, but it can also be kept for many years.
