This plant bears stunningly beautiful flowers, which resemble those of Asiatic lilies. Called a Flame Lily because of the striking bright yellow and red flowers. These take 2-3 years to bloom from seed.

You are buying 12+ FRESH SEEDS of the Gloriosa Lily (AKA: Glory Lily, Climbing Lily, Flame Lily, Gloriosa superba).

The Gloriosa Lily is one of the most unusual summer garden flowers. A tropical climbing vine (reaching about 6' - 8' in height), it produces dramatic red flowers with a yellow center that bloom continuously from summer into fall. Vines reach 6' or more by attaching tenderly to structures or other larger plants. Brilliant 4-5" blooms make fantastic cut flowers. Easily grown outdoors in warm climates excellent for growing in containers anywhere.

These Lilies are hardy in zone 8b - 11 .....be sure to bring them in for the winter if you live further north! Tubers can be lifted and stored in the winter in colder zones as you would tender bulbs or they can be container grown and the containers brought in during the winter.

From my research, these take 2-3 years to bloom when grown from seed. I planted my seeds that I harvested last year, so I do know that they do germinate and grow, but mine have not bloomed yet (from seed), so I can't confirm how long it will take for them to bloom. The small plants must be protected over winter and will not stand temperatures much below freezing, so I suggest you start these in containers that can be kept indoors for the winter. These take a good while to germinate, 30-45 days, and they must be kept warm during this time. I have not attempted to store these seeds before, but from what I read on the internet, they can be stored over the winter and planted in the spring when temperatures permit.
