I really love this unusual and easy to grow plant! These make excellent container plants in any zone, although it can be planted in the landscape in tropical zones 10 (possibly 9b) and warmer.

They like heat and sun - not much water and well draining soil. I grow mine in containers that I set out by the pool or on the patio during the summer months and bring into a bright, warm area of the house during the winter. About the only thing you can do wrong with this plant is overwater it - I suggest using a cactus soil mix in a well draining container (terra cotta is perfect for this plant!)
